This kakejiku 掛け軸 (hanging scroll) is signed 時信 after 狩野時信 Kano Tokinobu. This work is an utsushi 写し (copy). An utsushi is more than just a copy though, a good utsushi is a work in conversation with the original artist’s work. The mounting of this scroll includes multiple types of paper and a cute brocade with rabbits on it.
