Flower Vendor with Orange Blooms

Handcrafted in Oaxaca, Mexico by renowned Artist Josefina Aguilar.  Josefina was a third generation artist of the Aguilar family, who recently passed away. 

A cheerful piece of Mexican folk art: a hand-modeled clay woman in a cobalt blue skirt, balancing a gray platter piled with orange flowers on her head. More blooms are gathered in her arms, each with textured dark centers and petals painted in warm orange and yellow. Natural terracotta skin tones, matte paint, and cream earrings give it the warmth of traditional ceramic folk art. Each piece is handmade, so no two are exactly alike.
