Sterling Silver Filigree Earrings with Mirror
Master jeweler Yesenia Yadira Salgado Tellez created this special collection of collection of Oaxacan filigree earrings for Cargo. Yesenia’s multi multigenerational silver workshop, Antiquas Maravillas was once staffed by men but is now run by three generations of women.
This incredible collection is made completely by hand, each jeweler makes her own piece from beginning to end, from rolling the sheets to adding the stones & embellishments. The workshop utilizes ancient techniques specific to the Central Valleys and Oaxaca that reflect the Zapotec heritage.
Yesenia’s designs are sparked with color and texture, by adding beads of turquoise, red coral, river pearls, amethyst and mother of pearl, and mirror to the silver work. We particularly love the little hand detail that she favors as a top detail on many of the earring designs.
