Tree of Life Woman with Moon & Stars

Handcrafted in Oaxaca, Mexico by renowned Artist Josefina Aguilar.  Josefina was a third generation artist of the Aguilar family, who recently passed away.  

A charming piece of Mexican folk art: a hand-modeled clay woman in a cobalt blue skirt and white blouse, balancing a pink platter on her head. On it, Adam and Eve sit beneath a purple tree heavy with red fruit, with a serpent in the branches. She cradles a smiling yellow moon with a painted face, and silver stars are tucked at her shoulder. Natural terracotta skin tones, matte paint, and gold earrings give it the warmth of traditional ceramic folk art. Each piece is handmade, so no two are exactly alike.
