Guan Yin Goddess of Compassion

Guan Yin is the beloved goddess of Compassion and Knowledge is found through out Asia. Known by varying names she is featured prominently in China, Japan, Tibet, Thailand, Viet Nam, and Korea. Guan Yin is the goddess of mercy and considered to be the physical embodiment of compassion.

Seen here in flowing robes, seated o a lotus blossom with the vessel of knowledge in her open hands. In her headdress includes a seated Buddha Amitabha, her teacher. This statue is fairly contemporary made of cast plaster, with lovely detail & gold leaf finish.
