Handcrafted in Oaxaca, Mexico by renowned Artist Josefina Aguilar.  Josefina was a third generation artist of the Aguilar family, who recently passed away. 

A striking piece of Mexican folk art: a hand-modeled clay Virgen de Guadalupe with hands folded in prayer, in a turquoise mantle with gold star details over a red gown. Behind her, a gold-painted mandorla is crowned by a burst of silver stars on wire stems. At her feet, a small angel with outstretched arms holds the traditional red, white, and green wings of the Mexican flag. Natural terracotta skin tones and matte paint give it the warmth of traditional ceramic folk art. Each piece is handmade, so no two are exactly alike.
