Hello dear readers! I’m excited to introduce myself to you as the founder and maker behind the natural apothecary line, Running Late. For some, this is actually a reintroduction as you may know me from working for many years at Cargo, often behind the scenes on the website, social media and events. Cargo was one of my first, and has easily been my most supportive stockist.

My journey to making botanical perfumes and skincare has been a long time in the making. In my childhood, I spent much of my time traveling with my parents for work which included spending my summers at a holistic retreat center in upstate New York. Our family business was conference recording and we focused specifically on alternative medicine and spirituality. This incredible experience exposed me to a true wealth of knowledge on things like herbalism, Ayurveda, homeopathy, yoga, and meditation. With a foundation of knowledge learned from experts in their field, I started incorporating herbalism and Ayurveda into my daily life. At a certain point, I felt that these practices were no longer something I had to make an effort to incorporate but rather had become entwined in my very being.

As my love of herbs, flowers and plant medicine grew, I started making my own skincare products, perfumes and bath products, primarily when I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for in stores. I would make tinctures for friends or salves for family. I would experiment with essential oils and herbal teas. One day, fed up with not having a spray perfume option that was light, and not made with alcohol, I tried making a spray-on perfume. I like to think that the first time I misted myself with a blend of essential oils and distilled water, Running Late was born. It was then that I fell in love with the idea that natural perfume and skincare could be beautiful and luxurious, while maintaining its botanical and ethical integrity.

Each product that I make is an extension, a derivation of the one before it. I use travel to inspire me and only create new products when they manifest naturally through that inspiration. Each scent profile is inspired by places around the world that my dear fiancée and I have been together, each somehow more special and personal than the last. My hope is that the love, intention and presence in each product moves the wearer to find their own story and inspiration.
